The Package:
NDM were contracted to provide and install both the
substrate and the zinc cladding. The substrate consists of Metsec
purlings between the existing concrete slabs. 6" x 2" timbers are
secured to the metsec using oversized steel brackets. Insulation is
installed between the timbers and is covered by a breathable membrane.
2" x 2" counter battens are then installed and
followed by 4" x 1" timber boards.
The zinc cladding is then fixed to the timber boards
using patent clips and 25mm stainless steel nails.
Weathering into all window and door openings as well as
around any service penetrations was also in NDM's package.
The Design:
Working closely with the project architect NDM were
able to plan and implement the complex pattern in the zinc panels.
Materials Used:
The cladding consists of VM Quartz zinc.
