The Package:
NDM were contracted to build 2 tiers of
timber mansard, inclusive of decorative dormers finished in bright
copper. 2 types of slate was used on the different elevations of the
building: Trinity Green Slate and Burlington Blue/Grey 'bests'.
NDM also clad the plant screens with
aluminium using the standing seam method.
A striking copper dome was completed by
NDM. Handed only a steel frame NDM added the timber and insulation
substrate and copper cladding to exact specifications.
The Design:
NDM were able to take the architects
design of the project and add all the relevant details to our systems,
giving the principle contractor all the information needed before our
works began. This project employs the very best traditional roofing
methods which are both extremely durable and pleasing to the eye.
Materials Used:
Structural timber and insulation boards
for the mansard substrate with a Tyvek breathable membrane underneath
the slates. Both Lead inversed dormers and Copper Dormers are present
on this project and a striking copper "break" in the slates adds
character to the building.
A Euroseam roof has also been installed
elsewhere on the building.
